Sarah Sevcik Tummala's (she/her) interests include the study and evaluation of environmental, social, and behavioral determinants of health; the intersection of build environment and community health; and holistic and systems approaches to addressing public health concerns and advancing health equity. Sarah particularly enjoys dynamic, team-based evaluation projects with a utilization-focused mindset. Sarah earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) in community health promotion in 2009, a Master of Education (M.Ed) in adult education in 2012, and a Program Evaluation Certificate in 2017. A focus on community, equity, and innovation has been central to her work and personal life. Sarah is a public health educator at the University of Minnesota and she has actively sought out and been involved in initiatives which advance equity, such as internationalizing the teaching and learning process, co-creating an inclusive curriculum charter, and leading trainings on how to incorporate inclusive language into trainings, policies, and procedures. She recognizes this work is active, ongoing, and ever-evolving and takes her identity as a lifelong learner to heart.
